Dormant

1.2.12

Each time I realize how many hours I have spent on what I feel is doing nothing, it strikes me. How on earth can time fly so fast?  I realized this after starting a meditation course three weeks ago. It seems like I've been doing nothing, and suddenly it's two in the morning - and not ten in the afternoon like I thought!

The three last weeks have passed me insanely fast. There have been applications for exchange semester, job applications and so many other things that have been stuck on my mind all the time. There has been hardly any time for creative things, although I must say I'm proud of updating this space once in a while. I guess I'm not being alone in feeling a little drained nowadays. Anyway, apart from feeling mentally exhausted, I'm emotionally quite O.K with it.

But how do you guys do it? How do you successfully manage your time?

  1. Oh no your feeling the same way too! I think these dormant/slumpy feelings must be a begining of a new year thing... where we're just reflecting and getting ready to psych ourselves up for the year!! It can be quite daunting thinking about what one will be doing for the whole year! I think it's going to be a big one for both you and I! Ready... Steady... Gooooo :)

  3. I know this feeling, I always get it after a really busy period - like I'm not filling my time 'properly'. I think I'm starting to learn that sometimes its right for me to just take some time out and do nothing for a little while - I always feel so much better afterwards!

    1. I do to! And I'm trying to work through them the best I can. It feels so good to have tacked of one of those things on the list. Don't you think?

  6. You know, the older and wiser I get (ha ha!), the more I realize that time can't be changed, it's the same no matter what I do with it. So I do my best to prioritize well--and sometimes that means making creative or relaxing time top on the list, because sometimes it really is more necessary than work. And then you just learn to be ok with having done what you could. I think we feel bad when we think we have to do it all, even though we can't. Doing our best and accepting that as enough goes a long way in making time feel more "manageable." :)

    1. Your absolutely right about that! Especially the part about that creative time might be a necessity, even if there are other things that have to be done to - just to give one the motivation and joy of doing what you love :)

  7. I'm terrible at managing my time. So, if you figure out a way to successfully spend your time, let me know! hehe. :) I guess one way you can look at time flying by so quickly is that you'll be living with S sooner! :)

    These photos are so beautiful.

    1. Definitely! And that's one of those things that keep me so relaxed about it :) Thank you so much for that compliment. I'm really pleased with these photos, they are so simple and nice. Have a nice evening, Holly!

  8. Wow! These are absolutely stunning pics.

I wish I didn't have to sleep - would get so much more done. Until that day, i think I will be content with not managing my time and just doing what feels ok at the moment I suppose:)

    1. Oh! If it only was that easy :) I've been considering the same thing, but I think I'm the type of kind for whom it will absolutely not work for to sleep less than 8 hours a night.
